SETTING THE SCENE Friday Night Lights continue this week at Lawrenceburg in week 13 as the Cascade Cadets travel to Lawrenceburg Tigers for a Regional Championship. Cascade is coming off a week where they won just their second sectional championship in school history and now look to win their first regional championship in school history. Cascade enters the Regional Championship game riding the momentum of an undefeated regular season, conference championship and a 45-14 victory over Tri-West in the sectional semifinal and a 49-21 victory over Guerin Catholic in the Sectional Championship. The victory marks the first time since 1992 the Cadets have won a sectional championship. Lawrenceburg brings a balanced offense that features strong players at the quarterback, running back and wide receiver position. Defensively, the Tigers feature a unit that has been a dominant force holding teams to just 12.1 points per game over the course of the season. On the other side, Cascade’s high-tempo Wing Raid offense will look to dictate the pace, establish the run early, and create explosive play opportunities. The Cadets’ ability to win the line of scrimmage and maintain their trademark toughness has fueled back-to-back undefeated regular seasons, an 18-game regular-season winning streak and a sectional championship. Defensively, Cadets have thrived on being the aggressor and setting the tone with their physical and athletic side of the game. Cascade has given a total of 121 points all season long with 3 shutout victories and are just giving up 11.6 points per game in the playoffs. This group has led the way and been a huge reason why the Cadets are in the regional championship game. With history on the line and a regional championship trophy up for grabs, the Cadets travel to Lawrenceburg Friday Night with one team looking to host the semistate championship in week 14. A LITTLE PIECE OF HISTORY Cascade Cadets played in their 4th sectional championship in school history. The previous three were 1985, 1992, and 2006. Cascade’s lone Sectional Championship came in 1992, where they defeated Greencastle 37-21 at Cascade High School; 33 years later, the Cascade Cadets took the gridiron against Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles and defeated them 49-21 at home to bring home the Sectional Championship. CADET NOTES For the second straight year, Cascade finished off the regular season 9-0. Cascade opened up the regular season with two convincing wins over rivals, Monrovia and Danville, before rolling through the Monon Athletic Conference. Cascade brought home their 2nd Sectional Championship last Friday Night. Offensively, Cascade brings in one of the top scoring offenses in the state averaging 56.5 points per game and a stout defense giving up 10.1 points per game. Cascade is coming off of a 58-0 opening round playoff win, a 45-14 dominant performance over Tri-West and a 49-21 victory over Guerin Catholic. OFFENSIVE STATISTICS 56.5 Points/Game 433.2 Total Yds/Game 283.9 Rush Yds/Game 152.8 Pass Yds/Game UNDER CENTER FOR THE CADETS Senior quarterback Brady Trebley is under center, commanding Cascade’s no-huddle Wing-T offense. Through 12 weeks of football, Trebley has been as efficient as the best of them in Indiana High School Football, Trebley has completed 105-137 for 1,786 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also has added 231 yards on the ground and 7 touchdowns. Last week vs Guerin Catholic, the pass game was lethal with Trebley going 6-7 for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns. Trebley leads the offense that is averaging 459 yards per game and 49.7 points per game in the playoffs. Friday night, Trebley led the offense past the 5,000 yard mark for the first time in school history. Behind him, sophomore Luke Austin and freshman Mason Minner will provide depth in the quarterback room for the future Cadets. Brady Trebley Ranks in Career Passing History: Passing Yards (Career): 3rd (4,450) Passing TDs (Career): 1st (68) Completions (Career): 3rd (258) Completion % (Career): 1st (66.7%) RUN DOMINANCE Cascade heads into the Regional Championship play versus Lawrenceburg with a three-headed rushing attack that can strike on any play. Last week against Guerin Catholic, the Cadets’ backfield had a plethora of running backs carry the football for 331 rushing yards, averaging an impressive 8.3 yards per carry. JR Lucas Farmer led the team in carries with 8 for 134 yards and 1 touchdown. SR Toby Savini added in 5 carries for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. SR Dayton Mink finished it off with 11 carries for 35 yards. SR Brady Trebley added a fourth ball carrier with 5 carries for 35 yards and 1 touchdown. On the season, Mink leads the team with 796 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns, Savini adds in 753 yards and 13 touchdowns, while Farmer brings 732 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Cascade offense broke the 3,000 yard mark for the 4th straight year totaling 3407 yards and 63 touchdowns this season. With multiple weapons capable of taking it the distance on any snap, Cascade’s backfield will be a key factor Friday Night as the Cadets look to control the tempo and assert their run game in a highly touted match up in the Regional Championship with Lawrenceburg. Toby Savini & Dayton Mink Career Rushing Ranks: Rushing Yards: Savini 3rd (2,981) / Mink 4th (2,805) Rushing Touchdowns: Savini 3rd (37) / Mink 1st (43) Yards Per Rush: Savini 1st (9.81) / Mink 6th (6.45) Career Scoring: Savini 1st (318) / Mink 2nd (278) PASS CATCHERS Cascade’s wide receiver group is deep and experienced this season, led by seniors Marcus Hobson, JT Roshong, with junior Cooper Lievens adding additional depth. This group brings big play potential to the edge of Cascade’s otherwise run-heavy offense, providing balance and the ability to stretch the field, a key factor as the Cadets look to keep defenses from loading the box against their powerful rushing attack. Last week against Guerin Catholic, the wide receiver group made big time plays on the edge through the air and on the ground. SR Marcus Hobson caught one pass for 61 yards and a touchdown and SR JT Roshong caught one pass for 40 yards and a touchdown. SR Marcus Hobson leads the group with 648 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns. SR JT Roshong has hauled in 18 catches for 252 yards and 4 touchdowns. Friday night against Guerin Catholic, Marcus Hobson’s touchdown catch brought him into a three-way tie for season receiving touchdowns with AJ Sanders (2019) and Jacob Simpson (2003) at 14 total. Marcus Hobson Season / Career Receiving Ranks: Seasons Receiving Touchdowns: Hobson T-1st (14) Career Receiving Touchdowns: Hobson 3rd (20) / Savini T-5th (12) / Roshong T-5th (12) PHYSICALITY & VERSATILITY ON THE EDGE Cascade’s tight end group will continue to play a vital role in both the run and pass game as SR Delton Howrey, SR Braxton Lewis, SR Royce Bright, and JR Trent Austin will look to be the dominant force on the edge collapsing down gaps for the run game. Last week, SR Delton Howrey had one reception for 19 yards and 1 touchdown, and dominated in the run game assisting in the rack up of 331 rushing yards. As the Cadets prepare for their Week 13 game against Lawrenceburg, look for this group to continue being a dominant presence in the run game while providing timely contributions through the air when needed. HOGS UP FRONT The Cadets’ offensive line has been a major driving force behind Cascade’s success early in the 2025 season, paving the way for an offense that is averaging 436.7 yards per game. In Week 11 versus Tri-West, this unit had a strong showing, leading the Cadets offense opening massive running lanes to finish the night with 519 yards of offense, with a season high 489 yards on the ground. In the Sectional Championship, this group led the way opening up running lanes and solid pass pro finishing with 470 yards of offense. In week 13, they look to continue their physicality and efficiency. This year’s line features one senior, two juniors, and two sophomores, with only one returning starter from last season. Senior Brody Duncan provides leadership and stability up front, while juniors Wyatt Minardo and Dillon Setty hold down the tackle spots with toughness and consistency. Sophomore Eric Appleby starts at center, and sophomore Gunner White rounds out the group at left guard. Despite their youth, this line has quickly developed into a physical, cohesive unit, setting the tone for Cascade’s fast, no-huddle attack and giving their deep backfield room to thrive. For the offensive team to continue to thrive and make a push for a Regional Championships, this group will need to be on the same page and continue to communicate upfront. DEFENSIVE STATISTICS 10.1 Points/Game Allowed 168.3 Total Yds/Game Allowed 51.8 Rush Yds/Game Allowed 116.5 Pass Yds/Game Allowed 30 Takeaways (17 INTs/13 Fumble Recovery’s) RUN GAME STOPPERS Cascade’s defensive front will look to set the tone this week on the defensive line vs Lawrenceburg’s balanced offensive attack. Senior Dominic Appleby, Senior Bentley McClellan and JR Jacob Healy will get the start this week. This group has dominated the run game with plugging holes and shutting down running backs all season long. This group is giving up just 51.8 yards per game on the ground and have allowed 1 rushing touchdown all season. The defensive line has been the tone setter for being a run stopping force all season long. With momentum building and weather temperature dropping, Cascade’s defensive line will look to be a dominant threat if the Cadets want to make a push into late November. Lawrenceburg averages 217.5 yards on the ground. The defensive line will be tested with strong offensive line play and an elusive backfield. This group will need to clog running lanes to limit this rushing attack from getting going. HIT SQUAD Cascade’s most experienced defensive unit lines up at linebacker, where SR Toby Savini, SR Baynx Stirling, SR Braxton Lewis, and SO TJ Turner, will look to continue their physical presence as a unit. SO TJ Turner led the team last week with 10 tackles and 4 TFLs. SR Braxton Lewis and SR Baynx Stirling both added in 4 tackles each. This group brings a strong combination of leadership, toughness, and athleticism, making them a key component of Cascade’s defense. This group has been known for setting the physicality in games and doesn’t shy away from contact. This linebacker unit will be critical Friday Night filling running lanes vs a strong offensive unit for Lawrenceburg. NO FLY ZONE Cascade’s secondary is anchored by seniors Marcus Hobson and JT Roshong, alongside juniors Lucas Farmer and Michael Langley. Since surrendering 226 passing yards on big plays during the Week 4 matchup against North Montgomery, the Cadets’ “No Fly Zone” has locked in, allowing just 116.3 yards per game through the air this season. This disciplined group has forced opposing quarterbacks into tight windows all year, piling up 17 interceptions, including 3 by senior leader Marcus Hobson. SR JT Roshong came up with a huge interception last week that set up the running clock touchdown in the first half. The unit’s aggressive play and confidence have set the tone for Cascade’s defense, which has yielded only 12 passing touchdowns all season. Last week against Guerin Catholic, the “No Fly Zone” continued their statement year by adding another pick on the board for the Cadets defense. As Cascade prepares for its toughest test of the season in the biggest game of the year, this tested secondary will be key to slowing down quarterback Gilmour and the Tigers offense. With momentum on their side, Cascade’s defensive backfield is ready to rise to the challenge once again. KICKERS Junior Brogan Trump continues the kicking duties for the Cadets. Trump has been almost automatic for the PATs. For the season, Trump is 88-94 on the year, had a record breaking PAT game vs Greencastle converting 12 of 12 to break the PAT record in a single game (Previously held by Brogan Trump, 2025) and leads the state in all 6 classes for PATs made. Trump surpassed the Career PAT Record in the first week of playoff play vs Indianapolis Washington with his 7 PATs made passing Max Stucky (69). Trump is also 2-3 on field goal attempts for the year. SR Gabriel Glaze handles the kickoff duty for the Cadets and has been a special teams weapon, pinning teams deep in their own territory and keeping the ball out of returners hands with touchbacks. Glaze averaged 54.5 yards on kickoffs with 18 touchbacks on 55 kickoffs. Brogan Trump Season / Career Kicking Ranks: Kick Scoring (Season): 1st (94) PATs (Season): 1st (88) Kick Scoring (Career): 2nd (94) PATs (Career): 2nd (88) SCOUTING THE TIGERS Lawrenceburg is led by 15th year Head Coach Ryan Knigga. He is 140-43 overall at Lawrenceburg. The Tigers enter the game with a 10-1 record and a second place finish in the Eastern Indiana Conference. Last week, the Tigers defeated Greensburg 41-3 in the sectional championship. QB Crue Gilmour leads the team at quarterback going 103-144 for 1,666 yards and 24 touchdowns with SR WR Keaton McGrath Lewis hauling in 46 receptions for 830 yards and 13 touchdowns. On the ground, SR Isiaih Williams has 103 rushes for 1,116 yards and 15 touchdowns. On defense, the Tigers run a 5-3 stack and will hold the size advantage up front vs the Cadets OL. Lawrenceburg is led by SR linebacker Kinser Pope with 77 tackles and SR Jacob Bentor with 61 tackles. On the defensive line, JR Seth Dumas leads the team with 5 TFLs. This defensive unit gives up 197.1 yards per game and 12.3 points per game. 2025 Schedule Week 0: @ Linton Week 1: Monrovia W 48-6 Week 2: @ Danville W 41-25 Week 3: @ North Putnam W 42-6 Week 4: North Montgomery W 63-26 Week 5: @ Frankfort W 77-0 Week 6: Crawfordsville (Homecoming) W 55-3 Week 7: @ Greencastle W 98-13 Week 8: Southmont (Senior Night) W 46-0 Week 9: @ Western Boone W 56-7 Week 10: @ Indianapolis Washington W 58-0 Week 11: @ Tri-West W 45-14 Week 12: Guerin Catholic (Sectional Championship) W 49-21 Week 13: @ Lawrenceburg Week 14: IHSAA Semi-State Championship Week 15: IHSAA State Championship VARSITY COACHING STAFF HEAD COACH Connor Simmons 6th year at Cascade with an overall record of 40-26, 44-32 overall in 7 seasons. 2025: 12-0 (3A Sectional Champions) 2024: 10-1 (3A Sectional Semifinal) 2023: 6-5 (2A Sectional Semifinal) 2022: 6-5 (2A Sectional Semifinal) 2021: 3-7 2020: 3-8 (2A Sectional Semifinal) ASSISTANT COACHES Troy Edwards (DC - year 3) Matt Minardo (QB - year 6) Tony Appleby (OL - year 4) Cam Ginter (DL - year 2) Chris Appleby (OL - year 5) Don Rushton (ILB - year 3) Tim Horning (STC/RB - year 6) Connor Horning (STC/OLB - year 4) Steve Phillips (WR - year 3) Kyle Krober (RB - year 1) STUDENT MANAGERS Addison Littrell, Haley Terhune, Evan Dixon, Zayda Hofing MEDICAL STAFF Athletic Trainer: Meghan Clairday ADMINISTRATION Superintendent: Brian Tomamichel Assistant Superintendent: Kale Blickenstaff Principal: Jeff Hansel Assistant Principal: Julia Crone Athletic Director: Scott Stevens CASCADE SPORTS Follow CHS Athletics on Facebook (Cascade High School Athletics), Twitter (@Cadethletics), and online (cascadecadets.com) for more information on our sports and football program.
