SETTING THE SCENE Friday Night Lights turn into Championship Lights at Lucas Oil Stadium for Week 15 as the Cascade Cadets face the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights in the IHSAA 3A State Championship. The Cadets enter the matchup riding a historic postseason run, now just four quarters away from the first state title in school history. Cascade continues its remarkable surge after capturing only the second sectional championship in school history, the program’s first ever regional championship, and now its first semi-state title. The Cadets arrive in Indianapolis with the momentum of an undefeated regular season, a conference championship, and a postseason defined by discipline, toughness, and explosive team play. Bishop Luers brings one of the most storied traditions in Indiana high school football with their 19 state title appearances. The Knights entered the state championship with a run heavy offense, highlighted by explosive playmakers in the backfield and a senior led defense. Their defense is fast, experienced, and opportunistic, hallmarks of a program with multiple state titles in its history. Luers’ big-stage experience and deep playoff pedigree make them a formidable opponent under the bright lights of Lucas Oil Stadium. Cascade’s high-tempo Wing Raid offense will once again aim to dictate the pace, establish the run, control the perimeter, and generate explosive plays. The Cadets’ dominance at the line of scrimmage, paired with their relentless physicality, has powered this historic season. Friday, they’ll look to continue executing at a championship level. Defensively, Cascade has been outstanding all year, aggressive, fast, and physical. The Cadets have surrendered just 158 total points all season, including three shutouts, and are allowing only 20.4 points per game in the postseason. This unit has been the heartbeat of the program’s rise and will be crucial once more as they take on one of the most consistent offensive threats in Class 3A. With a state title on the line and history within reach, Cascade steps onto the Lucas Oil turf for the final time in school history and looks to capture the schools first boys’ state championship. One play, one series, one opportunity to etch their legacy forever. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers vs. Cascade. Knights vs. Cadets. Storied Program vs. New to the Big Dance. IHSAA 3A State Championship. Everything on the line. A LITTLE PIECE OF HISTORY Cascade made history in 2025 winning its first sectional championship in 33 years defeating Guerin Catholic 49-21. Cadets made even bigger history by winning their first regional and Semi-State in school history, making their first appearance in Lucas Oil. CADET NOTES For the second straight year, Cascade finished off the regular season 9-0. Cascade opened up the regular season with two convincing wins over rivals, Monrovia and Danville, before rolling through the Monon Athletic Conference. Cascade enters the State Championship game after winning their first regional and semi-state championship in school history. Offensively, Cascade brings in one of the top scoring offenses in the state averaging 54.6 points per game and a stout defense giving up 13.4 points per game. Cascade is coming off of a 58-0 opening round playoff win, a 45-14 dominant performance over Tri-West, a 49-21 victory over Guerin Catholic, a hard fought road victory over Lawrenceburg 37-33 and capped off by a home victory over Gibson Southern 49-34. OFFENSIVE STATISTICS 54.6 Points/Game 433.4 Total Yds/Game 289.1Rush Yds/Game 144.1 Pass Yds/Game UNDER CENTER FOR THE CADETS Senior quarterback Brady Trebley is under center, commanding Cascade’s no-huddle Wing-T offense. Through 14 weeks of football, Trebley has been as efficient as the best of them in Indiana High School Football, Trebley has completed 116-162 for 1,971 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also has added 273 yards on the ground and 9 touchdowns. Last week vs Gibson Southern, the pass game struggled to get going behind 4 dropped passes. Trebley went 5-13 for 41 yards and 1 touchdown. Behind him, sophomore Luke Austin and freshman Mason Minner will provide depth in the quarterback room for the future Cadets. RUN DOMINANCE Cascade heads into the State Championship play versus Bishop Luers with a three headed rushing attack that can strike on any play. Last week against Gibson Southern, the Cadets’ backfield had a plethora of running backs carry the football for 307 rushing yards, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. SR Dayton Mink led the team in carries with 25 for 125 yards and 3 touchdowns. SR Toby Savini added in 13 carries for 95 yards. JR Lucas Farmer finished it off with 6 carries for 78 yards and 1 touchdown. SR Brady Trebley added 2 touchdowns on the ground. On the season, Mink leads the team with 1,011 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns, Savini adds in 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns, while Farmer brings 863 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Cascade offense broke the 4,000 yard mark for the 1st time in school history totaling 4,047 yards and 71 touchdowns this season. Last week the career rushing record set by Chad Middleton from 1991-1994 with 3,183 was broken by SR Toby Savini who now has 3,228 yards rushing. With multiple weapons capable of taking it the distance on any snap, Cascade’s backfield will be a key factor Friday Night as the Cadets look to control the tempo and assert their run game against one of the top defenses in the state in the 3A State Championship against Bishop Luers. PASS CATCHERS Cascade pass cacher group will look to add a vertical threat to the offensive side. This group brings big play potential to the edge of Cascade’s otherwise run-heavy offense, providing balance and the ability to stretch the field, a key factor as the Cadets look to keep defenses from loading the box against their powerful rushing attack. Last week against Gibson Southern, the wide receiver group had a quiet night through the air while the ground game took over the story line. SR JT Roshong caught two passes for 28 yards last week. SR Marcus Hobson leads the group with 664 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns. SR JT Roshong has hauled in 21 catches for 3312 yards and 5 touchdowns. PHYSICALITY & VERSATILITY ON THE EDGE Cascade’s tight end group will continue to play a vital role in both the run and pass game as SR Delton Howrey, SR Braxton Lewis, SR Royce Bright, and JR Trent Austin will look to be the dominant force on the edge collapsing down gaps for the run game. Last week, Delton Howrey and Braxton Lewis played a vital role in the offense as blockers in the run game. As the Cadets prepare for their Week 15 State Championship against Bishop Luers, look for this group to continue being a dominant presence in the run game while providing timely contributions through the air when needed. HOGS UP FRONT The Cadets’ offensive line has been a major driving force behind Cascade’s success early in the 2025 season, paving the way for an offense that is averaging 433.2 yards per game. In Week 11 versus Tri-West, this unit had a strong showing, leading the Cadets offense opening massive running lanes to finish the night with 519 yards of offense, with a season high 489 yards on the ground. In the Sectional Championship, this group led the way opening up running lanes and solid pass pro finishing with 470 yards of offense. In week 13, they look to continue their physicality and efficiency. In week 13, the offensive line didn’t disappoint in the regional championship, leading the offense to 484 yards with 333 coming on the ground with a loaded box. Finally, in week 14 against a stout Gibson Southern front seven, this group paved the way for 307 rushing yards on the way to a victory. In the playoffs the Cadets are averaging 341 yards on the ground and a whopping 446 yards total on the offensive side. This group has been the key focal point for the Cascade offense and often gets overlooked. Look for this group to give it one final go this Friday vs Bishop Luers. DEFENSIVE STATISTICS 13.4 Points/Game Allowed 195.8 Total Yds/Game Allowed 62.5 Rush Yds/Game Allowed 123.3 Pass Yds/Game Allowed 35 Takeaways (22 INTs/13 Fumble Recovery’s) RUN GAME STOPPERS Cascade’s defensive front will look to set the tone this week on the defensive line vs a really good backfield of Bishop Luers. Senior Dominic Appleby, Senior Bentley McClellan and JR Jacob Healy will get the start this week. This group has dominated the run game with plugging holes and shutting down running backs all season long. This group is giving up just 62.5 yards per game on the ground and have allowed 7 rushing touchdowns all season. Last week vs Gibson Southern, this group made the Titans earn every yard on their way to 167 yards and 2 touchdowns. This group will need to play more disciplined in order to slow the Knights backfield duo. HIT SQUAD Cascade’s most experienced defensive unit lines up at linebacker, where SR Toby Savini, SR Baynx Stirling, SR Braxton Lewis, and SO TJ Turner, will look to continue their physical presence as a unit. SO TJ Turner led the team last week with 17 tackles. SR Braxton Lewis and SR Toby Savini anchor the inside with 9 tackles each vs Gibson Southern. SR Baynx Stirling came up with a huge interception in the 2nd quarter to set the Cadets offense up with a short field. TJ Turner leads this group with 124 tackles, Lewis and Savini both have 76 tackles and Stirling adds in 51 tackles. This group brings a strong combination of leadership, toughness, and athleticism, making them a key component of Cascade’s defense. This group has been known for setting the physicality in games and doesn’t shy away from contact. This linebacker unit will be critical Friday Night filling running lanes vs a strong offensive run game for Bishop Luers NO FLY ZONE Cascade’s secondary is anchored by SR’s Marcus Hobson and JT Roshong, alongside JR’s Lucas Farmer and Michael Langley. Since surrendering 226 passing yards on big plays during the Week 4 matchup against North Montgomery, the Cadets’ “No Fly Zone” has locked in, allowing just 123.4 yards per game through the air this season. This disciplined group has forced opposing quarterbacks into tight windows all year, piling up 22 interceptions, including 5 by JR Lucas Farmer. The secondary picked off 3 of the 4 passes last week with Langley having one in the 1st quarter and Farmer picked off two last week vs Gibson Southern. The unit’s aggressive play and confidence have set the tone for Cascade’s defense, which has yielded only 17 passing touchdowns all season.bAs Cascade prepares for its biggest game of the year, this tested secondary will be key to slowing down the Bishop Luers offense. With momentum on their side, Cascade’s defensive backfield is ready to rise to the challenge once again on the biggest stage. KICKERS Junior Brogan Trump continues the kicking duties for the Cadets. Trump has been almost automatic for the PATs. For the season, Trump is 99-106 on the year, had a record breaking PAT game vs Greencastle converting 12 of 12 to break the PAT record in a single game (Previously held by Brogan Trump, 2025) and leads the state in all 6 classes for PATs made. Trump surpassed the Career PAT Record in the first week of playoff play vs Indianapolis Washington with his 7 PATs made passing Max Stucky (69). Trump is also 3-4 on field goal attempts for the year. Last wek vs Gibson Southern, Trump completed another perfect PAT game going 7-7. SR Gabriel Glaze handles the kickoff duty for the Cadets and has been a special teams weapon, pinning teams deep in their own territory and keeping the ball out of returners hands with touchbacks. Glaze averaged 52.4 yards on kickoffs with 18 touchbacks on 65 kickoffs. SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is led by 13th year Head Coach Kyle Lindsey.
