The weather looks to be just right for some Friday Night Lights and Cascade’s 2023 Fall Homecoming. Cascade will wear their all black uniforms at home. Both Cascade and Cloverdale will come into this game on a 2 game win streak. Cascade comes into the game 2-1 coming off a 63-2 defeat of Edgewood last week as they welcomed the Cascade Youth Football program at halftime. Cloverdale comes into week four at 2-1, defeating Brown County 28-6. Cascade relies heavily on their No-Huddle Wing-T offense, while Cloverdale breaks out the spread attack using both the pass and run game. Cascade leads the all time series 34-11. Cascade beat Cloverdale in 2022 74-0 on the road. Cadets will come into this game on a five game win streak versus the Clovers, with the Clovers last win coming back in 2016 when Cloverdale beat Cascade 8-6. Cascade looks to improve to 3-1 for the 1st time since 2018 and just the 15th time in school history since the inaugural season back in 1966 CADET NOTES The Cascade offense is coming off back to back 400+ yard offensive games vs Beech Grove and Edgewood. Offensively, Cascade will look to continue their success on offense Friday Night versus the Clover defense. Cascade has five 100 yard rushers on the season and looks to build on their already 1,007 yards on the ground. Defensively, the Cadets are coming off a dominating effort holding the Edgewood offense to 49 total yards, forcing two takeaways (1 fumble/1 Interceptions), and holding the Mustang offense to 0 total points. Edgewood’s only points of the game came off a snap over the punter's head in the back of the end zone. SO Brady Trebley leads the offense that averages 390.3 yards per game. Trebley is completing 60% of his passes for 155 yards through three weeks on just 15 attempts averaging 17.2 yards/completion and three touchdowns. He looks to settle in and continue to be the leader of the no-huddle wing-t attack for the second straight year. FR Rhyder Williams will serve as the back-up quarterback for the Cadets. Rhyder continues to show consistent improvement at the JV completing 7-9 passes for 186 yards and 1 touchdown. Multiple running backs will look to carry the rock. SO Toby Savini leads the backfield with 328 yards, averaging 10.6 yards per rush and 5 touchdowns. SR Damien Appleby added 202 yards, averaging 8.1 yards/carry and 4 touchdowns. SO Dayton Mink was able to find the end zone last week for three touchdowns and brought 199 yards along with him through three games. Look for SR Caiden Clements and JR Tyler Hege to get in on the mix. The running back group is averaging 335.7 yards/game with 13 touchdowns and 7.7 yards/rush on the ground. Wide receivers will continue to add in their hands to the pass attack this year. So JT Roshong leads this group with 2 catches for 50 yards and caught a 24 yard touchdown pass last week in the first quarter versus Edgewood. Tight ends will look to be both physical blockers and pass catchers at the tight end position. Both played a vital role in the success of the rush attack, but also in the play action pass. FR Trent Austin hauled a 18 yard catch for a touchdown last week to give him his first varsity touchdown of his career. Four Juniors continue to anchor the offensive line for Cascade. The offensive line averages in weight a combined 200lbs. Last week, the front line was able to pave the way with 407 yards on the ground with the running backs averaging 9.7 yards/rush. This group has led the way to a total of 1,012 rushing yards and 165 passing yards. The defensive line will look to slow down Junior dual-threat quarterback Tate Jackson this week. JR Ducan White leads the defensive line up front with 6 tackles, 1.5 TFL and one quarterback hurries. Look for JR Owen Hargis, JR Bryce Hofing, SO Brandon White, SO Sam Starika to back-up the front 4 for the Cadets. They will need to plug holes and use their speed to contain JR Tate Jackson and the Clovers offense. This group is playing stout up front only giving up 2.9 yards per carry and 80.3 rushing yards per game. The linebacking group will look to anchor down the 2nd level defense. SR Jacob Potts leads the team in tackles with 20 and SR Brayden Cartmel is right behind him with a close 18.
