Over the weekend on Saturday, the Varsity Lady Cadets Volleyball team traveled to North Putnam to play in the Early Bird Tournament. It had been a long week so far for the Lady Cadets as they had played 4 matches over the past week going 3-1 over that period. First game day was versus Southmont, who up to that point of the season had not lost a set to start the season. The first set went back and forth until finally the Cadets were able to pull off the first set 26-24. The Cadets continued to play hard and took the 2nd set 25-22 to take the first match of the day. Next on the board was the Mooresville Pioneers and the Cadets were ready for them. The Cadets were continuing to battle hard as they were able to defeat the Pioneers 25-17 and 25-23 to put the Cadets into the Championship rounds. The Cadets next had to battle with Crawfordsville to see who would go into the Championship game against the Home North Putnam Cougars. The first set was a back and forth battle throughout but in the end the Cadets just could not get the victory and lost 17-25. In the second set, the Cadets put in it on all on the line to try to get it to a 3rd set, but fall short 22-25 to take 2nd in the pool and the opportunity to play for 3rd place. To take 3rd place in the tournament, the Cadets took on Attica who also place 2nd in their pool. The Cadets struggled to find their energy but in the end put it all together to take the victory 25-21 and 25-13 to finish in 3rd place in the tournament. The Cadets are now 6-2 on the season and have a few days off until they face Covenant Christian on Wednesday at Home. Come on out and support you Lady Cadets!
