The Lady Cadets (1-11, 1-5 Monon) hosted the Greencastle Lady Tiger Cubs (10-3, 4-1 Monon) for their last home game of the season. The Cascade and Greencastle rivalry in Girls Soccer extends back nearly 20+ years from when the schools were part of the Western Indiana Conference (WIC) and then assigned to the same 1A Sectional competition. The Cadets won 1A Sectional 48 in 2021 and 2022 and the Lady Tiger Cubs won the same 1A Sectional in 2023 and 2024. When the two teams faced each other last season, the Lady Tiger Cubs easily defeated the Lady Cadets 10-1. The Lady Tiger Cubs came out from the starting whistle with an aggressive energy that wasn’t matched by the Lady Cadets. Greencastle was able to jump out to a quick 3-0 lead within the first ten minutes and just dominated the game against Cascade. The Cadets tried frequently to regain some composure and control with their attacking game but the Greencastle defense shut down any offensive efforts quickly. The Lady Tiger Cubs scored three more goals before the end of the half, making their lead 6-0 by halftime, and quickly put the game away with a 9-0 mercy rule win in the second half. The 9-0 loss for the Cadets drops their record to 1-12 (1-5 Monon) on the season. The Lady Tiger Cubs improved their record to 11-3 and finished tied for 2nd place in the Monon Conference with a record of 5-1. Greencastle will turn right back around and play at Danville on Tuesday night before finishing their regular season schedule when they host the Sullivan Lady Golden Arrows on Thursday, October 1st. The Cadets last game of the season will be a travel down to the southside of Indianapolis to play the Perry Meridian Lady Falcons.
