The Cascade Lady Cadets traveled to Greenwood this afternoon to play the Lady Woodmen for the first time ever in girl's basketball history. Greenwood High School is classified as an IHSAA 4A school and has recently moved into the newly created Hoosier Legends Conference that grew out of schools departing the Indiana Crossroads Conference. The conference added many of Cascade’s former ICC competitors: Beech Grove, Monrovia, Speedway, and Triton Central. With neither team starting a senior in today’s game, the future for both teams is all about growing as the season develops. The Lady Cadets did a good job getting off to a strong start with some hot 3pt shooting in the first quarter and jumped to a lead they never relinquished. With this being the first game for the Lady Cadets, they played better as the game went on, and all the players picked up much-needed game experience. An offensively strong first half and a defensively dominant second half helped the Cadets cruise to a 72-22 victory for their first win of the year.
