Cadets enter the game undefeated and will look to continue that momentum as they head into the playoff season. Greencastle is looking for their first victory since week 5 over Indian Creek. Both teams will look to assert themselves in their respective offenses and defenses. Cascade will employ their heavy run wing-t offense and look to continue their dominant defensive performance this season, while Greencastle will bring an air raid attack and look to find a rhythm to get back on track. Buckle up, pack the cars, hit the road, fill the stands, and show up and show out because your Cascade Cadets are looking to continue history Friday Night. Future Monon Athletic Conference Rivals will duke it out in week 8. CADET NOTES Cascade looks to continue their historic season as they travel to Greencastle to take on the Tiger Cubs. Cadets enter week eight after knocking off undefeated North Putnam and Northview through dominant fashion in back to back weeks. Cascade uses a No-Huddle Wing-T attack on offense averaged 41.9 ppg and 349 yards through the ground and a 3-4 on defense that is playing lights out giving up 11.6 ppg and having 3 shutouts on the season. Cascade will look to slow down a balanced Tiger Cub offensive attack that has a Sophomore quarterback that can move the chains through the air. The Cadets will need to play great defense and run the football in order to have success against the Greencastle Air Raid attack. Offense: Total Yards: 436 Yds/Game Pass Yards: 86.4 Yds/Game Rush Yards: 349.6 Yds/Game First Downs: 147 Yards Per Play: 7.9 JR Brady Trebley is under center for the Cadets. Trebley was 4-7 for 46 yards 1 touchdowns through the air and 32 yards 2 touchdowns on the ground. On the season, Brady is 43-70 for 567 yards and 8 touchdowns and adds 367 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. Trebley broke through the 2,000 yard barrier last week vs Northview. He is just 9 touchdowns away from 3rd all time in school history. Brady is on his 3rd year starting and is the conductor of the Wing-T offense that has put up massive numbers for the Cadets over the last 3 seasons. FR Luke Austin and FR Adrian Parsons will serve as the back-up quarterback for the Cadets. Cascade has a six headed monster that can tote the rock for the offensive unit. JR Dayton Mink leads the team with 104 carries for 770 and 10 touchdowns on the season. SR Daemen Mason and SO Lucas Farmer have combined for 47 carries, 578 yards and 6 touchdowns. JR Toby Savini has averaged 10+ yards per carry since being back in the line-up adding 309 yards on the ground and 4 touchdowns. SO Lucas Farmer leads the group with 14.4 yards per rush. This backfield has combined for 2,447 yards and 32 touchdowns on the ground. They average 8 yards per carry. The wide receiver group hasn’t been needed much in the air attack over the last few weeks, but that doesn’t mean this group can’t make the big plays. JR Marcus Hobson leads the group averaging 17 yards per reception. JR JT Roshong also has 17 catches for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns. The receivers saw limited action last Saturday with only 7 balls through the air, but they did the dirty work in blocking, allowing the backs to run for 389 on the ground. Tight ends continue to be a big piece in the run game. JR Braxton Lewis will serve as the number one tight end and continues to be a force in the blocking attack up front opening up the edge for the backs to run through. Lewis caught an 82 yard touchdown pass in week 6 that saw him on a elusive run after the catch to break multiple tackles and found his way into the end zone. JR Royce Bright and SO Trent Austin will serve as his back-up. This group has played a significant role in the production of the 435 yards of offense against Northview front seven. Four Seniors will anchor the offensive line for Cascade. This group has led the way to an offense that averages 436 yards per game. SR Josiah Murrain, SR Bryce Hofing, SR Duncan White, and SR Owen Hargis will all look to be the aggressors upfront with the two full years of starting experience they bring to the table. Through seven weeks, the No-Huddle Wing-T offense has 3,000 yards of offense. The offense is averaging 41.9 points per game. In week seven, Cascade finished with 435 yards of offense making it their 6th straight game with 400+ yards. Most of the damage has come on the ground attack that averages 349 yards per game thanks to the 6 strong that sets the tone up front. Cadets' offense goes as far as this group takes them. Defense: Total Yards Against: 154.4 Yds/Game Pass Yards Against: 92.5 Yds/Game Rush Yards Against: 62 Yds/Game First Downs: 50 Yards Per Play Against: 3.9 The front three defensive lineman will look to assert their dominance against a heavy air raid attack from the Tiger Cubs. JR Brody Duncan leads the group with 20 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. JR Dominic Appleby has 18 tackles and 4.5 tackles for a loss on the season. SR Ducan White is third with 3.5 tackles for loss. SO Dillon Setty, SO Wyatt Minardo and SR Owen Hargis will serve as back-ups for this group. This group has been a big presence as they have given up 62 yards per game on the ground. JR Braxton Lewis, JR Leland Walker, JR Baynx Stirling and FR TJ Turner will get the start at the linebacker core this week. Week seven was a standout performance from ILB Braxton Lewis who tallied 12 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 fumble forced and 2 tackles for a loss. He is currently 2nd on the team in tackles with 43 total. FR TJ Turner brings 39 tackles and 5 tackles for a loss. JR Baynx Stirling will get his first start of the season in place of JR Dayton Mink. Linebackers have been a huge presence in the pass and run game this season. It shows as the defense only gives up 154 yards per game. O Wyatt Minardo, SR Brady Thornburg and JR Baynx Stirling will serve as the rotational players for this group. The secondary will be put to the test this week against an air raid offensive attack. Sophomore safety Lucas Farmer is 1st on the team in tackles with 47 total and came up with a huge 4th down stop in the first half last week against Northview. JR JT Roshong has been a strong filler in the run game and has tallied 40 tackles. SR Daemen Mason and JR Marcus Hobson will look to be a strong presence at the corner positions. JR Brady Trebley, JR Toby Savini, and SR Tyler Hege will serve as rotational players for the evening. The secondary is giving up 96 yards through the air, but this will be the toughest test of the year for the Cadets secondary. SR Max Stucky continues to handle the kicking duties for the Cadets. Stucky is currently 39-41 on the season for PATs which comes out to 95% accuracy. Stucky is just 10 PATs from passing Chase Schnarr in PATs made through a season with 48. SCOUTING THE TIGER CUBS Greencastle is led by 2nd year head coach David Stephens. The Tiger Cubs are entering the game 2-5 with wins coming against West Vigo and Indian Creek. Greencastle will be led on offense by SO quarterback, Cole Stephens. Stephens is averaging 209 yards per game with 14 touchdowns coming through the air. The defense is led by SO Parker Welker who leads the team with 66 tackles through six games and 5 tackles for loss.
