Cascade will wear all white Friday Night. What’s at stake for both teams? At this point in the season, it is win or turn in your equipment on Monday. Cascade looks to continue their season dominance and Crawfordsville will look to knock off the #8 team in Class 3A. Both teams will look to assert themselves in their respective offenses and defenses. Cascade will employ their heavy run wing-t offense and look to continue their dominant defensive performance this season, while Crawfordsville will bring a single wing run attack, sprinkled with some spread looks. Buckle up, pack your cars, hit the road, pack the stands, and show up and show out because your Cascade Cadets are taking their 9-0 record on the road for their first test in the playoffs. Both teams will begin to get used to each other, as next year, they will turn to Monon Athletic Conference rivals. A LITTLE PIECE OF HISTORY Cascade wrapped up their first undefeated regular season moving to 9-0 with a win against Owen Valley. This is the most wins in a season since 2006, which set the best record in school history at 10-2. CADET NOTES Cascade will look to carry over the momentum from the regular season to the playoff time. Cadets enter week 10 after knocking off undefeated North Putnam and Northview through dominant fashion in back to back weeks and then a 3-6 Greencastle team. Cascade uses a No-Huddle Wing-T attack on offense averaged 46.6 ppg and 344.4 yards through the ground and a 3-4 on defense that is playing lights out giving up 9.8 ppg and having 4 shutouts on the season. Cascade will look to slow down a run heavy Athenian offensive attack. The Cadets will need to play great defense and run the football in order to have success against the Crawfordsville Athenians Friday Night. Cascade is currently riding a 9 game winning streak, breaking the record for longest win streak in school history. The Cadet defense is on pace to have the most historic defense in school history. As playoff time has arrived, Cascade’s defense is giving up 142.7 yards a game and giving up only 75 points defensively and 88 total points (Two special teams touchdowns). The least amount of points given up in a season is 125, set back in 2006. Offense Statistics Points Scored: 46.6 (1st in 3A) Total Yards: 457.7 Yds/Game (4,119 Yards) Pass Yards: 113.3 Yds/Game (1,020 Yards) Rush Yards: 344.3 Yds/Game (3,099 Yards) First Downs: 189 Yards Per Play: 8.9 JR Brady Trebley in command of the No-Huddle Wing-T offense. Trebley completed 10-12 for 345 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air last week vs Owen Valley, his 345 yards was a new career high and good for 3rd highest in a game in school history. His 5 passing touchdowns was another career high and tied for 2nd all time in passing touchdowns in a game. On the season, Brady is 57-88 for 982 yards and 15 touchdowns and adds 378 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. He is just two touchdowns away inserting his way into 3rd all time in school history. Trebley needs 18 yards to surpass the 1,000 yard mark, which hasn’t happened since 2020 for the Cadet offense. FR Luke Austin and FR Adrian Parsons will serve as the back-up quarterback for the Cadets. Brady Trebley Ranks in Career Passing History: Passing Yards (Career): 4th (2,428) Passing TDs (Career): 4th (35) Completions (Career): 6th (139) Completion % (Career): 1st (61.4%) Cascade has a six headed monster that can tote the rock for the offensive unit. JR Dayton Mink has been the workhorse for the Cadets offense surpassing the 1,000 yard mark and adding in 13 touchdowns in the regular season. JR Toby Savini has added 455 yards and 6 touchdowns. Dayton and Toby both continue to climb in the rushing records column in yards and touchdowns. Savini surpassed the 2,000 yard mark last week against Owen Valley. JR Lucas Farmer leads the group with 14.4 yards per rush. This backfield has combined for 3,099 yards and 43 touchdowns on the ground. They average 8.4 yards per carry. Cadets broke the 3,000 yard rushing barrier for the 3rd consecutive year. Dayton Mink & Toby Savini Ranks in Career Rushing History: Rushing Yards (Career): Savini 6th (2,013) / Mink 7th (1,840) Rushing Touchdowns (Career): Savini 7th (21) / Mink 4th (24) Yards Per Rush (Career): Savini 1st (8.8) / Mink 6th (6.4) The wide receivers had a breakout game in week 9. JR JT Roshong caught a career high 161 yards and 2 touchdowns. JR Marcus Hobson tallied 2 catches for 51 yards and 1 touchdown. This is the highest output of the season. Roshong now has 292 yards on the year with 4 touchdowns. Tight ends continue to be a big piece in the run game. JR Braxton Lewis serves as the number one tight end and continues to be a force in the blocking attack up front opening up the edge for the backs to run through. JR Royce Bright caught his first touchdown pass of the year with a 62 yard catch and run. This group acts as a 6th offensive lineman and has done a dominant job all year. JR Royce Bright and SO Trent Austin will get the nod this week at tight end. This group has played a significant role in the production of the 574 yards of offense against Owen Valley defense. Cadets front five are the masterminds behind the dominant offensive attack. This group has led the way to an offense that averages 457.7 yards per game. SR Josiah Murrain, SR Bryce Hofing, SR Duncan White, SR Owen Hargis, and SO Dillon Setty will all look to be the aggressors upfront and set the pace of the game as this group will set the length of play in the playoffs. Through nine weeks, the No-Huddle Wing-T offense has 4,119 yards of offense. The offense is averaging 46.6 points per game. In week nine, Cascade finished with 574 yards of offense making it their 8th straight game with 400+ yards. Most of the damage has come on the ground attack that averages 344.3 yards per game thanks to the 6 strong that sets the tone up front, but last week the aerial attack dropped 345 yards. Cadets' offense will go as far as this group can take them. Defense Statistics Points Against: 9.8 (7th in 3A) Total Yards Against: 142.7 Yds/Game (1,284 Yards) Pass Yards Against: 83.2 Yds/Game (749 Yards) Rush Yards Against: 59.4 Yds/Game (535 Yards) First Downs: 64 Yards Per Play Against: 3.3 The front three defensive lineman will look to assert their dominance in week one of the playoffs. SR Ducan White is first with 9.5 tackles for loss and has asserted his dominance on the defensive line over the last three weeks. With JR Brody Duncan out this week, look for another big guy to step up to the challenge. JR Dominic Appleby has 27 tackles and 5.5 tackles for a loss on the season. SO Dillon Setty, SO Wyatt Minardo and SR Owen Hargis will serve as back-ups for this group. This group has been a big presence as they have given up 59.4 yards per game on the ground. JR Braxton Lewis, JR Leland Walker, JR Baynx Stirling and FR TJ Turner will get the start at the linebacker core this week. ILB Braxton Lewis and Leland Walker anchored down the interior of the defense and have been a force in the run game. Both players have been physical presence during the course of this season. Week nine was a standout performance from FR OLB TJ Turner who tallied 14 tackles and 3 Tackles for a loss. JR Braton Lewis leads the team in tackles with 56 total. Look for Stirling and Turner to be strong edge setters, with Lewis and Walker being the punishers on the interior. JR Dayton Mink and JR Toby Savini will be the next men up for these positions. The secondary was without SO safety Lucas Farmer last week, but did not skip a beat. JR Safety JT Roshong led the secondary with 6 tackles and he currently tallied 50 tackles on the season. SR Daemen Mason and JR Marcus Hobson will look to be a strong presence at the corner positions. JR Brady Trebley will get his 3rd start of the season since week #1. The secondary is giving up 83.2 yards through the air over the course of the 9 games. SR Max Stucky handles the kicking duties for the Cadets. Stucky is currently 57-59 on the season for PATs which comes out to 97% accuracy. Stucky broke the PATs made in a game last week against Owen Valley hitting 10/10, a record set by Chase Schnarr a year prior. Stucky currently sits at 57 PATs made (Tied for 2nd overall), but he is just 1 PAT away from surpassing the 57 mark set back in 2006 by Joel Fisher. Joel Fisher also owns the kick scoring mark at 66 points set in 2006. Stucky has inserted himself into the history books for the kicking duties in just one year of playing for the Cadets. SCOUTING THE ATHENIANS Crawfordsville is led by third year Head Coach Brad Clark. The offense is led by JR quarterback McCarty who has 563 yards throwing with 6 touchdowns and 506 yards rushing with 7 touchdowns. The do-it all quarterback will need to have a standout game Friday Night. Athenians are led by JR linebacker Surface who has tallied 91 total tackles and 2 tackles for a loss. This defense will have their hands full as they give up 322 rushing yards per game.
