The Cascade girls swim and dive team scratched, clawed, fought and prevail at the Clinton Central invitational on Saturday. The meet went down to the last relay with the Cadets ahead by 5 points. The relay team of McKenna Potters, Amani Malik, Shaelyn Skidmore and Isabelle Vieting made sure that the winners trophy was going home with the Cadets. It took a total team effort to put the Cadets in a position to win on the final relay. The diving Duo of Courtney Shostrand and London Moore brought home a 1-2 finish in the diving event. Madison Goff and Katianne Bolinger got a 1-2 finish in the 200 IM and a 1-3 finish in the 100 butterfly. Perhaps the most unnoticed swim of the day was Lilly Lanphier's 500 swim. Lilly was able to improve 2 positions in the event and gain that 1 valuable point that would come back at the end of the meet and have significance. The Cadets swam smart races and had 6 season best times. The meet was exciting from start to finish. Meets like these have so many highs and lows but the Cadets stayed focused during the ups and downs of the meet. When it was all on the line the Cadets reacted...with performance. The Cadets are back at home on Tuesday Dec 13th against 5A Terre Haute South.
