CADET GIRLS WIN ICC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Cascade 183 Cardinal Ritter 92 Speedway 76 Beech Grove 72 Scecina Memorial 21 For the second year in a row the Cascade girls swim and dive team has dominated the ICC Conference Championship meet. The Cadets place first in 9 events, went 1-2-3 in the 500 free and did not have a swimmer scoring below 6th position during the meet. The Cadets started the day with a 1-2 finish in the diving events with Courtney Shostrand claiming the conference title while teammate London Moore finished 2nd. Cascade's medley relay team of Hailey Dunn, Shaelyn Skidmore, Emma Phipps and Katianne Bolinger opened the swimming segment of the meet with a solid win. Isabelle Vieting, Molly Goff and Lilly Lanphier followed in the 200 free with a 1-2-4 finish. The 200 IM saw senior Madison Goff battle Beech Groves Ave Lantzer with Goff edging out the BG swimmer at the finish. Hailey Dunn and Katianne Bolinger finished the event in 3rd and 4th. The 50 free had a false start by the Cadet's Emma Phipps which disqualified her. Taylor Trusty claimed the 2nd position and Shaelyn Skidmore posted a 5th place finish. Madison Goff grabbed her second conference title in the 100 butterfly after a fantastic swim and a personal best time. Katianne Bolinger and Gabby Angelides finished 3rd and 6th in the fly event. In the 100 free Emma Phipps found redemption as she sailed to the win with Taylor Trusty collecting the 2nd position and Hannah Smith bringing in a 6th place finish. The trio of Isabelle Vieting, Molly Goff and Lilly Lanphier finished 1-2-3 in the 500 free event. The winning 200 free relay team of Madison Goff, Taylor Trusty, Isabelle Vieting, Emma Phipps was disqualified for a false start. In the 100 backstroke, Hailey Dunn, McKenna Potters and Amani Malik went 1-2-5. The breaststroke event had Shaelyn Skidmore and Beech Groves Ave Lanzer swimming stroke for stroke for the entire event with the Beech Grove swimmer getting the win at the finish. Alexa Rodriguez was 3rd and Kirstyn Marcum 6th. The final relay of Madison Goff, Molly Goff Lilly Lanphier and Isabelle Vieting cruised to the 9th victory of the day for the cadets. The Cadets swam a great meet posting 16 personal best times .The Cadets continue to improve with each meet will be looking to improve on their 8-1 record on Monday against North Putnam.
