SETTING THE SCENE Friday Night Lights take the Cadets on the road as Cascade travels 10 miles to face the Danville Warriors. It’s not just another Friday, this is Cascade’s final non-conference test before diving into Monon Conference play, and it comes against a premier Class 4A program. What’s at stake? For Cascade, it’s a chance to measure themselves against a bigger school, sharpen their identity, and prove they can compete with one of the top programs in central Indiana. For Danville, it’s about protecting home turf and showing why they’ve built a reputation as one of the state’s toughest 4A teams. Both teams bring physical football to the field. Cascade will look to pound the rock out of their fast-paced, no-huddle Wing-T, aiming to control tempo and wear down the Warriors with run game in the trenches. Danville counters with size, speed, and depth, leaning on their physicality and balance to force the Cadets into a battle. The outcome will hinge on who controls the line of scrimmage, who makes the first big strike, and who has the endurance to finish late. So make the short trip down the road and bring the energy, the Cadets step out of conference play for the last time this season, squaring off with the Warriors under the lights in Danville. CADET NOTES Cascade opened the 2025 season with a statement win over rival Monrovia in the Battle of I-70, setting the tone with their trademark fast and physical style. Now the Cadets turn their attention to Week 2, where they’ll travel just down the road to face premier Class 4A opponent Danville. It’s the final non-conference match-up before Monon Athletic Conference play begins, giving Cascade a chance to build momentum and measure themselves against a bigger, tradition-rich program. Senior quarterback Brady Trebley enters his fourth and final year commanding Cascade’s no-huddle Wing-T offense. A true veteran under center, Trebley has been the heartbeat of the Cadet offensive attack, bringing both leadership and playmaking ability to the field each Friday night. In his final week one game against Monrovia, Trebley was efficient going 13-18 201 yards 3 TDs and rushed 5 times for 39 yards. Last season, Trebley became the first 1,000-yard passer for Cascade since 2019, finishing with 1,114 yards through the air and 20 touchdowns, while adding 378 rushing yards and 8 more scores on the ground. He also climbed the school record books, moving into 2nd all-time in career passing touchdowns (43) and 4th all-time in career passing yards (2,865). His 62.2% completion rate already stands as the best in Cadet history. This fall, Trebley is aiming to close out his Cadet career by chasing the top spot in passing touchdowns, needing just 11 more to become Cascade’s all-time leader. Behind him, sophomore Luke Austin and freshman Mason Minner will provide depth in the quarterback room as the Cadets look toward the future. Brady Trebley Ranks in Career Passing History: Passing Yards (Career): 4th (2,865) Passing TDs (Career): 2nd (43) Completions (Career): 4th (165) Completion % (Career): 1st (62.2%) Cascade heads into Week 2 against Danville with a four-headed rushing attack that can strike on any play. Last week against Monrovia, senior Dayton Mink rushed 17 times for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns, while senior Toby Savini carried 8 times for 107 yards. The group rushed for a total of 257 yards and bolstered 6 yards per rush attempt. Both Mink and Savini have already surpassed 2,000 career rushing yards, giving Cascade a dynamic and experienced duo in the backfield. Senior Marcus will take the snaps at left wing, while junior Lucas Farmer and Sophomore Mason Dixon rotate in at running back adding versatility to the offense. This group has the ability to make big plays on every snap, a key factor against a physical, Class 4A Danville team. Dayton Mink & Toby Savini Career Rushing Ranks: Rushing Yards: Savini 5th (2,335) / Mink 7th (2,093) Rushing Touchdowns: Savini 5th (24) / Mink 3rd (29) Yards Per Rush: Savini 1st (9.34) / Mink 5th (6.61) Cascade’s wide receiver group is deep and experienced this season, led by seniors Marcus Hobson, JT Roshong, and Delton Howrey, with junior Cooper Lievens adding additional depth. This group provides the Cadets with big-play potential on the edge in an otherwise run-heavy offense. Last week against Monrovia, Marcus Hobson had a breakout performance with 5 catches for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns, while JT Roshong added 2 receptions for 23 yards. Expect this group to continue stretching the field and creating opportunities against a tough Danville defense. Cascade’s tight end group will play a key role in both the run and pass game, led by senior Braxton Lewis. Seniors Royce Bright and junior Trent Austin provide depth, with all three having significant playing experience since their freshman seasons. Lewis, in particular, is a physical presence up front, consistently opening holes in the running game and providing a reliable target when called upon in the passing game. The Cadets’ offensive line has been a major factor in Cascade’s success, helping the team average 400 yards per game over the last two seasons. In 2025, the line features one senior, two juniors, and two sophomores, with only one returning starter. Senior Brody Duncan will lead the group, while juniors Wyatt Minardo and Dillon Setty anchor the tackle spots. Sophomores Eric Appleby and Gunner White will start at center and left guard. This unit paved the way last week against Monrovia, helping the offense gain 457 total yards. Expect this experienced and versatile group to continue creating running lanes for an explosive backfield as Cascade heads into their Week 2 matchup with Danville. Cascade’s defensive front will look to control the line of scrimmage against a run-heavy Danville offense. Seniors Dominic Appleby and Brody Duncan return as starters for their final season, with junior Wyatt Minardo anchoring the interior. Seniors Bentley McClellan, juniors Dillon Setty and Kaiden Weakley, along with a handful of others, will rotate in to keep the front fresh. This group set the tone last week against Monrovia, holding the Bulldogs to just 112 rushing yards, and will be key in slowing down the Warriors’ ground attack in Week 2. Cascade’s most experienced defensive unit lines up at linebacker, where seniors Braxton Lewis, Toby Savini, Baynx Stirling, and sophomore TJ Turner will get the start. This group combines leadership, toughness, and athleticism, and will be key in slowing down Danville’s multiple offensive attack. Last week against Monrovia, Turner led the group with 12 tackles and a pick-six, setting the tone for a defense that looks to make big plays in the passing and running game. The Cadets also feature strong depth at linebacker, with seniors Delton Howrey and Dayton Mink rotating in to keep the group fresh. With so much experience and physicality across the board, this corps is built to be the backbone of Cascade’s defense in 2025, tasked with containing Danville’s versatile offensive attack. Cascade’s secondary will be back to full strength for Week 2 against Danville, led by seniors Marcus Hobson and JT Roshong, along with junior Lucas Farmer. They will be joined by junior Michael Langley, earning his first career varsity experience. Last week against Monrovia, Farmer led the group with 9 tackles and 1 TFL, while Hobson added 1 interception and 1 pass defended, setting the tone for a secondary that aims to disrupt Danville’s offensive schemes. This secondary will be tested early by Danville’s efficient quarterback, who threw for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns last week. Cascade’s defensive backs will need to match their speed and discipline to slow down both the passing and running attack. Last season, the Cadets held opponents to just 87.3 passing yards per game over 11 contests, proving their ability to lock down through the air. With added depth and experience in 2025, Cascade’s secondary is ready to meet the challenges of a bigger, faster Class 4A opponent. Senior Gabriel Glaze and junior Brogan Trump will split the kicking duties for the Cadets, following in the footsteps of Max Stucky’s historic season. Both are taking on first-year kicking opportunities while also playing soccer. Glaze will handle kickoffs and punts, while Trump will focus on extra points. Last week, Trump went 6-of-7 on extra points, with both sharing kickoff duties. This duo gives Cascade reliable depth in the kicking game as they prepare for a tough Week 2 matchup against Danville. SCOUTING THE WARRIORS Danville is led by Head Coach Jayme Comer, now in his sixth season with a 41-16 career record. This season, Danville returns a handful of offensive and defensive contributors. The Warriors bring a balanced, multiple offensive attack, capable of both power runs and timely passing plays. Defensively, the Warriors operate out of a 3-4 scheme and bring strong depth across the front seven, making them a physical and versatile unit to challenge Cascade’s rushing attack. Last week, Danville gave up 466 total yards and put together 271 yards against one of the state of Indiana’s top teams in the south, Gibson Southern. JR Carter Ward leads the Warriors undercenter and is coming off a solid performance where his night saw two-70 yard touchdown throws. Warriors will try to get back on track this week before they hit the road for three straight away games. This game presents an opportunity for Cascade to test their offense and defense early on in the season to prepare for the tough 3A sectional opponents. 2025 Schedule Week 0: @ Linton Week 1: Monrovia W 48-6 Week 2: @ Danville Week 3: @ North Putnam Week 4: North Montgomery Week 5: @ Frankfort Week 6: Crawfordsville (Homecoming) Week 7: @ Greencastle Week 8: Southmont (Senior Night) Week 9: @ Western Boone Week 10: Sectional Quarterfinal Week 11: Sectional Semifinal Week 12: IHSAA Sectional Championship Week 13: IHSAA Regional Championship Week 14: IHSAA Semi-State Championship Week 15: IHSAA State Championship VARSITY COACHING STAFF HEAD COACH Connor Simmons 6th year at Cascade with an overall record of 29-26 Simmons currently ranks 3rd in total wins in program history with 29.
