This Week 5 matchup will be a historic one as the Cadets and Hotdogs face off for the inaugural time and for their 3rd Monon Athletic Conference game. SETTING THE SCENE Friday Night Lights take the Cadets back on the road as Cascade travels to face the Frankfort Hotdogs in a Week 5 matchup that carries a special kind of excitement. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs, adding a historic feel to the night as both teams square off in Monon Athletic Conference play. For Cascade, the focus is on keeping their strong start rolling and extending their 13-game regular-season winning streak. The Cadets are looking to make a statement as they continue their push to establish themselves as one of the top programs in the conference. For Frankfort, it’s a chance to protect their home field, battle for their first win of the season, and show the progress they’ve made as a team. Cascade’s offense will look to set the tone with their fast-paced, no-huddle Wing-T, using tempo and a strong running game to wear down the defense and a physical, relentless defensive unit. Frankfort counters with a disciplined veer option attack, designed to control the clock and keep the Cadets’ offense off the field. This matchup comes down to execution and physicality. With history on the line and conference standings in play, both teams will be ready to leave it all on the field Friday night in Frankfort, IN. CADET NOTES Cascade opened the 2025 season with two statement wins, first taking down rival Monrovia in the Battle of I-70, then knocking off 4A #11 Danville, setting the tone with their trademark fast and physical style of play. Now, the Cadets shift their focus to Week 5, heading back on the road to face the Frankfort Hotdogs for the first time in school history. This matchup brings a sense of excitement as both teams look to make their mark in Monon Athletic Conference play and compete in the heart of the 2025 season. Cascade enters the game riding a 13-game regular-season winning streak and will aim to keep their momentum going, while Frankfort looks to rise to the challenge, protect their home field, and take a big step forward in their program. Senior quarterback Brady Trebley continues under center, commanding Cascade’s no-huddle Wing-T offense. Through the first four weeks of the season, he has been as efficient as the best of them in Indiana High School Football, Trebley has completed 46-65 for 703 yards and 9 touchdowns. He also has added 111 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns. Trebley is aiming to close out his Cadet career by chasing the top spot in career passing touchdowns, needing just 4 more to become Cascade’s all-time leader. Behind him, sophomore Luke Austin and freshman Mason Minner will provide depth in the quarterback room as the Cadets look toward the future. Brady Trebley Ranks in Career Passing History: Passing Yards (Career): 3rd (3,367) Passing TDs (Career): 2nd (49) Completions (Career): 3rd (199) Completion % (Career): 1st (63.6%) Cascade heads into Week 5 against Frankfort with a four-headed rushing attack that can strike on any play. Last week against North Montgomery, this backfield ran for 313 yards total on just 26 carries. Farmer, Savini, Hobson, Mink and Turner all found the endzone Friday Night. Senior Marcus will take the snaps at left wing, this group has the ability to make big plays on every snap, a key factor against the 4A Frankfort Hotdogs. Dayton Mink & Toby Savini Career Rushing Ranks: Rushing Yards: Savini 4th (2,468) / Mink 6th (2,239) Rushing Touchdowns: Savini 4th (27) / Mink 2nd (31) Yards Per Rush: Savini 1st (9.42) / Mink 5th (6.31) Career Scoring: Savini T-1st (252) / Mink 5th (206) Cascade’s wide receiver group is deep and experienced this season, led by seniors Marcus Hobson, JT Roshong, and Delton Howrey, with junior Cooper Lievens adding additional depth. However, Cadets will be without SR JT Roshong and SR Delton Howrey due to injuries. This group provides the Cadets with big-play potential on the edge in an otherwise run-heavy offense. Last week against North Montgomery, the wide receivers had a big night catching 9 passes for 156 yards and 1 touchdown. Cascade’s tight end group will play a key role in both the run and pass game, led by senior Braxton Lewis. Seniors Royce Bright and junior Trent Austin provide depth, with all three having significant playing experience since their freshmen seasons. Lewis, in particular, is a physical presence up front, consistently opening holes in the running game and providing a reliable target when called upon in the passing game. Lewis caught two passes vs North Montgomery for 35 yards, while JR Trent Austin caught one pass for 30 yards. The Cadets’ offensive line has been a major factor in Cascade’s success early on this season, helping the team average 421 yards per game. In 2025, the line features one senior, two juniors, and two sophomores, with only one returning starter. Senior Brody Duncan will lead the group, while juniors Wyatt Minardo and Dillon Setty anchor the tackle spots. Sophomores Eric Appleby and Gunner White will start at center and left guard. This unit paved the way last week against North Montgomery for an astounding 610 yards on offense, creating holes to rush for 313 yards. Expect this experienced and versatile group to continue creating running lanes for an explosive backfield as Cascade heads into their Week 5 match-up versus Frankfort. Cascade’s defensive front will look to control the line of scrimmage against the Hotdogs Option Offense. Seniors Dominic Appleby and Brody Duncan return as starters for their final season, with junior Wyatt Minardo anchoring the interior. Juniors Dillon Setty and Jacob Healy along with a handful of others, will rotate in to keep the front fresh. This group has set the physicality upfront and is coming off a game where they held the opposing teams offense to 21 rushing yards. The defensive line will look to lock into this game early and shut down the Hotdogs run attack. Cascade’s most experienced defensive unit lines up at linebacker, where seniors Braxton Lewis, Toby Savini, Baynx Stirling, and sophomore TJ Turner will get the start. JR Trent Austin will serve as the back-up to the outside linebackers this week. This group combines leadership, toughness, and athleticism, and will be key to slowing down Frankfort’s option attack. Last week against North Montgomery, Savini led this group with 7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack. Cascade’s secondary is led by seniors Marcus Hobson and JT Roshong, along with juniors Lucas Farmer and Michael Langley. Last week against North Montgomery, this group struggled giving up multiple explosive plays to the Chargers offense, allowing 200+ yards through the air, the most all season. This experienced Cadets secondary will look to stick their heads into the run game this week and will need to fill downhill. With added depth and experience in 2025, Cascade’s secondary is ready to meet the challenges in the second half of the season. Junior Brogan Trump will continue the kicking duties for the Cadets. Trump is taking on first-year kicking opportunities while also playing soccer. Trump will handle all aspects of kicking Friday Night. For the season, Trump is 26-28 on the year. Trump averages 46.3 on his kickoffs. SCOUTING THE HOTDOGS Frankfort is led by 1st year Head Coach Justin Kenzie. He is 3-17 overall in his coaching career. Last week, Frankfort lost to Southmont 57-0. =Frankfort is looking for some positive moments to build upon in their season as they enter week 5. 2025 Schedule Week 0: @ Linton Week 1: Monrovia W 48-6 Week 2: @ Danville W 41-25 Week 3: @ North Putnam W 42-6 Week 4: North Montgomery W 63-26 Week 5: @ Frankfort Week 6: Crawfordsville (Homecoming) Week 7: @ Greencastle Week 8: Southmont (Senior Night) Week 9: @ Western Boone Week 10: Sectional Quarterfinal Week 11: Sectional Semifinal Week 12: IHSAA Sectional Championship Week 13: IHSAA Regional Championship Week 14: IHSAA Semi-State Championship Week 15: IHSAA State Championship VARSITY COACHING STAFF HEAD COACH Connor Simmons 6th year at Cascade with an overall record of 32-26 Simmons currently ranks 2nd in total wins in program history with 32, passing Gary Satterfield (31) with last week's 63-26 victory vs North Montgomery.
