Greencastle currently leads the series 26-22, but Cadets are on a two game series win streak with Cascade traveling to Greencastle in 2024 and winning in dominating fashion 56-7. Tiger Cubs last defeated the Cadets in 2018 regular season play. SETTING THE SCENE Friday Night Lights take Cascade on the road in Week 7 as the Cadets travel to face the Greencastle Tiger Cubs in a key Monon Athletic Conference matchup. With the season entering its second half, every game carries added weight, and this one has the makings of a statement contest under the lights in Greencastle. Both teams are still competing for the first Monon Athletic Conference Championship with Cascade sitting at 4-0 and Greencastle at 3-1. Cascade enters the matchup riding a 15 game regular-season winning streak and will look to keep their momentum rolling against one of the conference’s most dangerous offenses. For Greencastle, this is an opportunity to defend their home turf against a 3A state ranked opponent and deliver a signature victory. The Tiger Cubs feature an explosive Air Raid offense, spreading the field and attacking vertically with tempo and precision. Their ability to create chunk plays through the air will test Cascade’s secondary and force the Cadets to win one-on-one matchups in space. On the other side, Cascade’s trademark high-tempo, hybrid Wing-T attack will try to control the pace, pound the football on the ground, and counter with explosive pass plays to keep the Tiger Cubs’ defense off balance. With conference standings on the line, a streak on the line for Cascade, and Greencastle looking to make noise in front of their home crowd, this Week 7 showdown sets the stage for a true Friday night classic in the Monon Athletic Conference. CADET NOTES For the second straight year, Cascade is off to a perfect 6-0 start. Cascade opened up the regular season with two convincing wins over rivals, Monrovia and Danville. Since MAC play, Cascade has won in dominating fashion with a high scoring offense and a stifling defense. Offensively, Cascade brings in one of the top scoring offenses in the start averaging 54.6 points per game and a stout defense giving up 11 points per game. Cascade is coming off a big homecoming victory over Crawfordsville 55-3. UNDER CENTER FOR THE CADETS Senior quarterback Brady Trebley is under center, commanding Cascade’s no-huddle Wing-T offense. Through week six of the season, he has been as efficient as the best of them in Indiana High School Football, Trebley has completed 68-92 for 1,143 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also has added 121 yards on the ground and 3 touchdowns. Last week vs Crawfordsville, Trebley etched his way into the record books by breaking the Career Passing Touchdown record set by Kyle Foster, he now has 55 touchdowns through his career. Behind him, sophomore Luke Austin and freshman Mason Minner will provide depth in the quarterback room for the future Cadets. Brady Trebley Ranks in Career Passing History: Passing Yards (Career): 3rd (3,807) Passing TDs (Career): 1st (55) Completions (Career): 3rd (221) Completion % (Career): 1st (64.0%) RUN DOMINANCE Cascade will head into week 7 against Greencastle with a four headed rushing attack that can strike on any play. Last week against Crawfordsville, the Cadets’ backfield were light on the yards with 188, but explosive on yards per play with 8.4 yards per attempt continuing to show their balance and explosiveness. Toby Savini made the most of his touches, racking up 53 yards and a touchdown on just 4 carries. Farmer showcased his game-breaking speed with 65 yards and 1 touchdowns on 6 carries, while Dayton Mink powered his way to 53 yards and 2 scores on 7 carries. With multiple weapons capable of taking it the distance on any snap, this backfield will be a key factor as Cascade looks to wear down the 2A Greencastle defense that gives up 500 yards of offense per game and extend their regular-season and Monon winning streak. Dayton Mink & Toby Savini Career Rushing Ranks: Rushing Yards: Savini 4th (2,586) / Mink 6th (2,374) Rushing Touchdowns: Savini 4th (29) / Mink 2nd (35) Yards Per Rush: Savini 1st (9.61) / Mink 5th (6.38) Career Scoring: Savini 1st (276) / Mink 3rd (236) PASS CATCHERS Cascade’s wide receiver group is deep and experienced this season, led by seniors Marcus Hobson, JT Roshong, and Delton Howrey, with junior Cooper Lievens adding additional depth. Heading into the Week 7 matchup against Greencastle, the Cadets get a boost as senior JT Roshong returns from injury. This group brings big-play potential to the edge of Cascade’s otherwise run-heavy offense, providing balance and the ability to stretch the field, a key factor as the Cadets look to keep defenses from loading the box against their powerful rushing attack. Last week against Crawfordsville, the wide receivers had a big night catching 10 passes for 242 yards and 4 touchdowns. JR Cooper Lievens recorded his varsity touchdown catch last week vs Crawfordsville. SR Marcus Hobson had a career game hauling in 7 catches for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns. The three touchdowns were good for tying the record for most receiving touchdowns in a game with five other Cadets. His 171 yards were good for 4th most in a single game. Marcus Hobson Season / Career Receiving Ranks: Seasons Receiving Touchdowns: Hobson 3rd (10) Career Receiving Touchdowns: Hobson 4th (16) PHYSICALITY & VERSATILITY ON THE EDGE Cascade’s tight end group will continue to play a vital role in both the run and pass game, led by senior Braxton Lewis. Seniors Royce Bright and junior Trent Austin add quality depth, with all three bringing significant varsity experience dating back to their freshman seasons. Lewis is a physical force up front, consistently creating running lanes for Cascade’s explosive backfield while also serving as a reliable target in the passing game. In Week 4 against North Montgomery, Lewis hauled in two receptions for 35 yards, while Austin added one catch for 30 yards. In the Week 5 matchup against Frankfort, Lewis caught one pass for 13 yards, showcasing his versatility. The tight end group had a quiet night in the pass game, but their presence was still felt in the run game. As the Cadets prepare for their Week 7 game against Greencastle, look for this group to continue being a dominant presence in the run game while providing timely contributions through the air when needed. HOGS UP FRONT The Cadets’ offensive line has been a major driving force behind Cascade’s success early in the 2025 season, paving the way for an offense that is averaging 447 yards per game. In Week 6against Frankfort, this unit delivered its most dominant performance yet, helping the Cadets rack up an impressive 519 total yards of offense. This year’s line features one senior, two juniors, and two sophomores, with only one returning starter from last season. Senior Brody Duncan provides leadership and stability up front, while juniors Wyatt Minardo and Dillon Setty hold down the tackle spots with toughness and consistency. Sophomore Eric Appleby starts at center, and sophomore Gunner White rounds out the group at left guard. Despite their youth, this line has quickly developed into a physical, cohesive unit, setting the tone for Cascade’s fast, run-heavy attack and giving their deep backfield room to thrive. Their continued growth will be key as the Cadets enter the heart of the conference schedule, starting with their Homecoming matchup against Crawfordsville. RUN GAME STOPPERS Cascade’s defensive front will look to control the line of scrimmage in their Week 7 matchup against Air Raid Greencastle offense. Senior Dominic Appleby returned as an experienced starter for his final season, while junior Wyatt Minardo, Bentley McClellan, and Jacob Healy anchored the interior with strength and consistency. This group has been the tone-setter for physicality, and last week against Crawfordsville, they turned in their most dominant performance of the season, holding the Athenians to just 108 total yards of offense. With momentum building, Cascade’s defensive line will aim to set the tone early, get pressure on Greencastle pass attack, and keep the pressure high on the road. HIT SQUAD Cascade’s most experienced defensive unit lines up at linebacker, where seniors Braxton Lewis, Toby Savini, and Baynx Stirling, along with sophomore TJ Turner, will get the start for the Week 7 match-up against Crawfordsville. Junior Trent Austin will provide depth as the primary backup to the outside linebackers. This group brings a strong combination of leadership, toughness, and athleticism, making them a key component of Cascade’s defense. In Week 6 against Crawfordsville, Braxton Lewis had a standout game leading the team with 15 tackles and getting his first interception of the season. This group has been known for setting the physicality in games and doesn’t shy away from contact. This linebacker unit will be critical in slowing down Greencastle’s offensive attack and setting the defensive tone early. NO FLY ZONE Cascade’s secondary is led by seniors Marcus Hobson and JT Roshong, along with juniors Lucas Farmer and Michael Langley. Since letting up 226 yards through the air on big plays during the North Montgomery week 4 contest, Cascade No Fly Zone has been on a tear, giving up just 101 yards per game through the air on the season. Heading into the Week 7 matchup against Greencastle, Cadets will have their hands full with one the states top statistical quarterback from Greencastle who averages 337 yards per game through the air, with 4 straight 400 yards performances. With their experience and physical style, this secondary will look to limit the big plays and stay disciplined in coverage as they prepare to face the air raid attack of Greencastle. With added depth and confidence, Cascade’s defensive backfield is ready to play a pivotal role as the Cadets push into the second half of the 2025 season. THE SPECIALISTS Junior Brogan Trump continues the kicking duties for the Cadets. Trump has been almost automatic for the PATs. For the season, Trump is 44-47 on the year, had a record breaking PAT game vs Frankfort converting 11 of 11 to break the PAT record in a single game (Previously held by Max Stucky, 2024) and leads the state in all 6 classes for PATs made. Trump averages 48 yards on his kickoffs. SR Gabriel Glaze and FR Max Stucky have both seen action as well on kickoffs the last three weeks. SCOUTING THE TIGER CUBS Greencastle is led by 3rd year Head Coach Dave Stephens. He is 16-13 overall at Greencastle and 17-40 overall. Last week, Greencastle defeated North Montgomery in a shootout victory that saw the Tiger Cubs and QB Cole Stephens throw for 400+ yards for the 4th consecutive game, beating the Chargers 48-42 Tiger Cubs bring in one of the most lethal pass games in the state of Indiana. Greencastle can score points at win through the air Defensively, they give up 48 points per game and 475+ yards in 5 out of the 6 contests this season.
